Technology.

I do believe as a society we have become too dependent on technology, but then again it has helped. Yes to the older generations we seem like brainless, less intelligent morons because of our dependence on our cell phones, computers, ipods, itouch, and whatever else. But to our generation it is completetly normal and in ways helpful, to keep in touch with friends and family that may be out of state, to keep up with news, and help with homework. But then again the downfalls are worse. With technology it's easier for weird old men to connect with children, or for scams to happen, or for children to get addicted to and not focus on their school work or families. Everything has it's upsides but with that they also have their downsides.
