Adversity can give you the drive to succeed in order to get out of the hardships your currently in. A good example of this is marshal mathers (Emenim). He lived in the ghetto and worked hard on his music so he could break out of it. Adversity is difficult to deal with but it can give you the urge to get trough it no matter what.
