Pompe CURE!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had one million dollars to send it to charity I would give it to cure pompe or find a cure for it because it is hard to find a cure and most people do not go for the science research because it is kind of a rare disease. For what I am getting for christmas I will probably get an Itunes card and more cds and movies on dvd!!!!!!!!!!

What is the pompe disease? Is it like cancer?

If this thing is rare, than why throw one million dollars towards it? I mean, I can see people giving it to cancer and HIV researchers (which is really almost pointless, as a cure for cancer does exist, and HIV is very easily preventable), but my mom is a nurse, and she has never even heard of pompe, so it is probably not even a real threat. It may be a terrible ordeal to go through, but I am willing to bet there is already some kind of way to either fight or prevent it.
